Overall, sequence analysis by using high-throughput Pyrosequencing technology is accurate and reproducible and can be almost fully automated. The technology is also less expensive, time-consuming, and labor-intensive, as well as easier to perform, than conventional Sanger sequencing.

Pyrosequencing technology has been confirmed to be superior to Sanger sequencing in terms of time, cost, quantification, as well as ease-of-use for reading stretches of DNA for discriminatory purposes.
